I attended a memorial service in Burlington County with Commissioner Allison Eckel, Commissioner Randy Brolo, Commissioner Tyler Burrell, Senator Troy Singleton, and Assemblyman Balvir Singh. It was an honor to pay tribute to those we have lost and stand together in remembrance.

I joined my colleagues on the Public Safety and Preparedness Committee yesterday. It was especially meaningful to hear Christina Grimmie’s family and friends honor her memory. I am proud to sponsor the resolution recognizing her legacy.

I went to Russo Farms in Tabernacle this morning with Speaker Craig Coughlin, Assemblywoman Katz, and Governor Sherrill to assess the agricultural damage caused by prolonged freezing temperatures. I appreciate Governor Sherrill’s efforts to support and provide relief for farmers impacted by this freeze.

I took my students to Trenton today to show them around the Statehouse! Seeing Trenton through the eyes of students today was a great reminder of why civic engagement matters. I was proud to welcome them to the New Jersey State House and share how our state government works firsthand. The thoughtful questions and enthusiasm from these future leaders made for a memorable day.

This Memorial Day, I am committed to remembering the heroes who gave their all for freedom. I attended the memorial service in Mount Holly, spoke at the Egg Harbor Memorial Service, and participated in the Lumberton Memorial Day Parade. Thank you to everyone that joined me to remember and honor our veterans.

I joined Mayor Jackie Veasey with Burlington County elected officials in Marlton this morning for the Marlton Assembly of God memorial day service. Together, we honored the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

I attended the State of New Jersey Memorial Day Observence service at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetary in Wrightstown to remember with gratitude the sacrifice of those who served with Governor Mikie Sherrill, and others in paying tribute to the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

I was honored to present a commendation to Officer Jake Tapia of the Medford Lakes Police Department in recognition of his brave and determined lifesaving efforts in rescuing a woman from an icy lake earlier this year. Our district is fortunate to have dedicated public servants like Officer Tapia helping keep our communities safe. His courage, professionalism, and quick actions exemplify the very best of law enforcement service. We are grateful for his commitment to protecting others, and I wish him continued success and safety in all the days to come.
