Today, LCOC Director of Public & Human Relations, Fran McComas, had the honor of attending a special event at American Legion Post 111 in Hamlin featuring West Virginia’s own Jessica Lynch.
Her story is one many of us remember. In 2003, at just 19 years old, Jessica Lynch was serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq when her unit was ambushed and she was taken prisoner of war. Nine days later, she was rescued by U.S. Special Operations Forces. More than two decades later, she continues to use her experience and her voice to advocate for veterans and remind others of the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve our country.
We are thankful to Jessica for spending time here in Lincoln County, to American Legion Post 111 for hosting, and to everyone who came together today in support of those who have served.
LCOC was also proud to share information about our Veterans Program and the services and resources available to veterans in our community.

Team LCOC took the field yesterday at the Dignity Hospice of Southern West Virginia Memorial Softball Tournament at Chief Logan State Park in Logan, West Virginia! 🥎

We enjoyed a wonderful day filled with teamwork, laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit. We were also honored to have West Virginia Delegate Jeff Eldridge join Team LCOC for the tournament!

LCOC was proud to participate and serve as a Home Run Sponsor alongside the LCABA - Lincoln County Area Business Alliance.

Thank you to everyone who played, supported our team, and helped make the day so memorable. We may have a few sore muscles today, but Team LCOC had a great time!

LCOC is proud to share the launch of the Lincoln County Area Business Alliance, an independent organization founded by our Executive Director, Bill Carpenter.

We’re excited to support its vision for strengthening businesses, building partnerships, and creating new opportunities throughout Lincoln County.
