We would like to recognize and say how proud we are of our Jr Firefighter team competing this past weekend in Rowlett at the DFW Jr FF Games. These kids worked hard for weeks and it showed out on the field. They represented Hamlin VFD & Stamford VFD well! Thank you to everyone that helped support them and a special thanks to the coaches Mark Hernandez & Rachelle Dennett. This was our 2nd year attending and hopefully it can continue for years to come and continue to grow with more young kids.

Our future firefighters need your support!

The Fire Department is raising funds for our Junior Firefighter games - a program that gives young people the chance to learn, grow, and experience what it means to serve their community.

Every donation helps provide equipment, training, event expenses, and opportunities for these kids to succeed. We're proud of them, and we'd love for you to be part of their journey.

They are selling raffle tickets for a 50/50 raffle. $10 each. Tickets can be purchased from any of these young kids or at Hamlin City Hall. The drawing will take place on April 25th.

We would like give a big Thank you to the Hamlin Four Square Ladies Ministry for the wonderful desserts that were delivered lastnight during our meeting. We greatly appreciate your kindness and generosity! Everyone enjoyed the desserts very much! 😊

Earlier this afternoon around 5:15 we received a call about a structure fire on NW 1st and H. Crews responded and encountered a working fire towards the center rear of the house. Teams made entry and were able to knock it down along with another team on the backside of the house. Vertical ventilation was completed also to help release heat and smoke. No one was injured and everyone was ok. Thank you to everyone that helped on scene Hamlin EMS, Junior Arce, Theresa Lechuga Gonzalez , Hamlin PD, Anson PD, & Jones Co Sheriff's Deputy. A special thanks to all the firefighters that worked hard and continuously to get the fire under control and put out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Due to the winter weather coming this weekend, we'd like to remind everyone to take proper precautions when using any type of heating source. Be sure to not overload an outlet receptacle and keep any/all items clear from the heater. Also we encourage everyone to stay home and off any roadways unless absolutely necessary. Vehicle accidents increase in this type of weather and we want to make sure everyone stays safe.
