It was so cool spending time with our sweet friends this morning at our Ice Cream Storytime! 🍨
We read "Ice Cream Face", "Curious George and the Ice Cream Surprise", and "Pete the Cat Screams for Ice Cream". After stories, we painted our own ice cream cones using sponges, clothespins, and cotton balls, and topped them with sequin sprinkles. Our activities included color matching snow cones and popsicles, and assembling ice cream cones out of felt pieces.🍦
And for the cherry on top, we got to have ice cream and sherbet at the end! 🍒

We were buzzing with excitement at Summer Reading Program this morning! 🐝
Our guest reader, Principal Erin Kelly, read us "The Couch Potato", the next book in our food group series. It's a story about a potato who loves to stay on the couch surrounded by gadgets, but a power outage forces him outside, leading him to discover the joys of the outdoors and the importance of balancing screen time with real-world activities. 🥔
Then our guest presenter, Charles Dadant, educated us on bees, including different bees and their roles within the hive, how to care for them, how to collect the honey, and more. He even brought us some fresh honey sticks to try and they were a big hit with the kiddos. 🍯

Join us in the side yard of the library tomorrow morning at 10 AM for our weekly SRP meeting! Our guest reader this week will be local principal, Erin Kelly. Our guest presenter will be Charles Dadant. He will be talking about beekeeping and everything that entails. 🐝

Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? What better way to celebrate than with a storytime all about our favorite frozen treat? Join us this Saturday at 10 AM for an hour full of ice cream stories, crafts, and activities.🍨
(This program is for children of all ages.)

Thank you to Mrs. Jessica Bell and Mayor Bo Casey for joining us for Summer Reading Program this morning!

Mrs. Bell read us "The Cool Bean", a book about an "uncool" bean who feels left out by his cooler friends, but learns that true coolness comes from kindness and not appearance.

Mayor Bo told us all about his many duties working for the park district, including pool maintenance, trash cleanup, mowing, beaver management, and much more.
