A quick traffic heads-up for your commute, Hamilton.

Starting Tuesday, June 16th, Park Avenue between B Street and Eaton Avenue will have lane restrictions in place through June 30th while crews replace catch basins in preparation for repaving that will occur later this summer. Please plan for a little extra travel time, drive carefully through the area, and follow posted traffic patterns.

Park Avenue will be one of the first roads in the Tristate resurfaced using funding from the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana (OKI) Pilot Resurfacing Program. The City of Hamilton received an $800,000 grant from OKI to resurface the roadway. Paving is scheduled for completion by the end of October.

Whew, summer is making its entrance!

With temperatures climbing into the upper 80s and near 90° again today, it could feel closer to 100° outside. Since these are some of the first truly hot days of the year, the heat may feel more intense than it will later in the summer.

Need a way to cool off? Hamilton's seven spraygrounds are open daily from 11am to 7pm and ready to help you beat the heat! Remember to drink plenty of water, wear light-colored loose-fitting clothing, take breaks in the shade or A/C, and don't forget sunscreen (SPF 30+).

And while you're staying cool, be sure to check on neighbors, friends, and pets, too.
