Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County

Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County is dedicated to promoting the independence, dignity, and wellness of older adults and adults with disabilities.

We are a coalition of over 25 interdenominational member congregations with over 350 dedicated volunteers who cheerfully provide free services — such as transportation to doctors’ offices, grocery shopping, friendly visiting, respite care, light housekeeping, telephone reassurance, occasional meal preparation, indoor/outdoor chores, minor home repairs and other non-medical help — that enable care receivers to remain in their homes. Our free services are offered without proselytization and without regard to race, religion, color, income or national origin.

Today, we remember through service. 🇺🇸

In recognition of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, Interfaith Caregivers is honoring this day by giving back to our community through our AmeriCorps Seniors Day of Service project.

September 11 is a day to remember the lives lost, honor those who responded with courage and compassion, and reflect on the extraordinary spirit of unity that emerged in the days that followed.

For us, service is a meaningful way to carry that spirit forward. By helping our neighbors and strengthening our community, we honor the past through the way we choose to show up for one another today.

We remember. We honor. We serve.

September is Fall Prevention Month, a reminder that falls are not simply a normal part of aging, and there are steps we can take to help reduce the risk.

Through Project Healthy Bones, older adults build strength, improve balance and posture, and learn how to move more safely and confidently in everyday life. And because classes are done together, participants gain something just as important: connection, encouragement, and a community cheering them on.

💪 Build strength
⚖️ Improve balance
🦴 Support bone health
👟 Move with confidence
🤝 Stay connected

ICGMC coordinates Project Healthy Bones classes throughout Mercer County, helping older adults stay active, independent, and engaged.

Today is National Nonprofit Day, a day to recognize the organizations, volunteers, donors, and community partners working every day to make a difference in the communities they serve. 💚

At Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County, our mission comes to life through people helping people. It’s a volunteer giving a neighbor a ride to an appointment. A friendly visit that turns into a lasting friendship. A phone call that keeps someone connected. A community partner helping us reach someone who could use a little support.

Every connection helps older adults throughout Mercer County continue living with dignity, independence, and meaningful connection to their communities.

Want to be part of the difference? In honor of National Nonprofit Day, consider making a donation to help us continue connecting older adults with the support, services, and relationships that help them remain independent in their own homes and communities.
