The American Foundation for Su***de Prevention (AFSP) is hosting their annual Walk to Fight Su***de in Hamden on Sunday, October 4th. The walk serves as an opportunity to honor & remember loved ones lost to su***de, raise awareness, spread hope, and most importantly, support one another. The Hamden Police Department supports this organization and will have resources available!

Friday was a proud and historic day for the Hamden Police Department.

We proudly promoted 16 members of our department, celebrating their advancement through the ranks—from newly hired officers to Deputy Chief. Each promotion represents years of dedication, leadership, sacrifice, training, and commitment to serving the Hamden community.

We also took the opportunity to share significant investigative accomplishments with our community, announcing arrests in two cold-case homicides, a shooting, and a carjacking. These cases are a testament to the persistence and dedication of our detectives, investigators, patrol officers, and the many members of our department who work tirelessly to pursue justice—regardless of how much time has passed.

Join us as the Hamden Police Department takes on the Hamden Fire Department in our annual Battle of the Badges softball game!

Come out early, cheer on your hometown police officers and firefighters, and help the Hamden PD defend its championship title! 🏆

Our Hamden Police Cadets participated in the Cadet Police Academy from July 12th-18th which was held at Westfield State University in Westfield MA. The Cadets completed a week of classes, physical training, practical skills and team building during this para-military style camp. They all represented Hamden with honor and commitment, and we couldn’t be more proud! Congratulations to:
