*** LABOR DAY: PARKING RESTRICTIONS & ROAD CLOSURES 🚫🅿️ *** The 2024 New Haven Road Race is this Monday, September 2nd. Over 5,000 runners are expected to participate in various races: the Kids Fun Run Race, the 5K, the half-marathon, the half-marathon relay, and the 20K USA Track and Field national championship race. It’s a fun and festive day in the Elm City and a great day for residents and runners alike, many who come from all over the city, region and country to participate.
In order to provide a safe course for runners and observers, some parking restrictions and temporary road closures are required. The routes for the various races span parts of Downtown, Fair Haven, East Rock, Beaver Hills, Dwight, Edgewood and Westville neighborhoods.
Please pay close attention to any posted streets signs with “no parking” notices and be sure to move your vehicle as directed to avoid a ticket and being towed. No parking restrictions for race day begin as early as 4 am. In addition, if you are planning on traveling around the city on Monday between 8 am and 1 pm, please be mindful of these temporary road closures that impact several major roadways and plan accordingly.
The main routes are below and you can learn more about the race at NewHavenRoadRace.org
