June is Dog Licensing Month, and Hamden is off to a great start with more than **200 dogs already licensed or renewed** for the coming year.

Did you know? A dog license can help reunite lost pets with their families and helps ensure the Town maintains accurate records for animal safety and public health.

**Connecticut law requires all dogs 6 months and older to be licensed annually.**

Need to license or renew your dog? You have options:

✔️ Use our secure drop box
✔️ Renew online
✔️ Join us this Saturday at our Rabies Clinic & Dog Licensing Event

🚨 NEW in Hamden beginning June 1, 2026 🐾

The Hamden Town Clerk’s Office is excited to announce the launch of online dog license renewals.

If your dog was licensed last year and your rabies certificate is current, you may renew online beginning June 1 through August 31.

Please note:
• Online services are available for renewals only.
• New dog registrations must be completed in person, by mail, or by using the Town Clerk drop box at the Government Center.
• Residents may also continue renewing by mail, in person, or by using the drop box if preferred.
• Current rabies information is required for all licenses.
• A convenience fee applies to online payments and is paid directly to the processing vendor.

Thank you to the Veterans Commission and everyone who had a hand in planning today’s Memorial Day observance.

Today we honor and remember the men and women from our community, our neighbors, family members, and friends who made the ultimate sacrifice, the families who continue carrying their memory forward, and the service members who still put on the uniform and answer a call larger than themselves.

We remember. We honor. And we are grateful. 🇺🇸❤️
