Take a whole list or a street or two. Take YOUR street and the ones on each side!!

Don't want to walk? Come make calls!! Saturday AND Sunday!

You can stay as long as you like- every bit helps! We have a lot of calls to make, so please come in for an hour or two!!

On Monday, we could use help, too! Just send a message and we will share what we need to do.

WHAT AN HONOR!!

Today, we received notice that BOTH of the major professional groups for educators has endorsed Jim!

Here's what the press release had to say:

Jim Pascarella Receives Teacher Endorsements

Hamden – Jim Pascarella, endorsed Democratic candidate for State Representative in the 88th Assembly District, received endorsements today from both the Connecticut Education Association (CEA) and the Hamden Education Association (HEA).

In the letter issued by the CEA, President Sheila Cohen stated as reasons for their support Jim’s record and commitment to teachers and public education and his existing and on-going relationship with Hamden education groups and the teachers of Hamden.

HEA President Diane Marinaro commented “Jim has always been an advocate for the children and teachers in our town. He’s the one individual that will best serve the educational community.”

Both organizations urged their members to support Pascarella in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary.

“I am honored to receive the endorsement of not one, but both of the professional organizations representing educators. I have worked very hard to protect and improve Hamden’s educational assets, from buildings to teachers to students. I think my record of supporting public education in Hamden, fighting for the town’s fair share of ECS funding and working to preserve teachers’ rights and pensions proves that experience matters in this election”, said Pascarella.

“I am humbled by the faith educators and teachers have put in me, and pledge to work as hard as I can for world-class education in Hamden.”

“Jim is incredibly dedicated to the town of Hamden,” Councilman Michael McGarry said when he nominated Pascarella.

“In the fall, if it’s a Friday night and there’s a home game, he’s going to be down rooting for the Dragons,” McGarry said of the Hamden High School football team. “He volunteers his time as a football coach and he’s incredibly active in the town government — just a few weeks ago he took a day off of his job just so he could go into Town Hall to do more work. His leadership (on the Legislative Council) will be sorely missed if he is elected. We have a tendency to at times to get a bit off track, and Jim is always able to keep us focused and get the job done. He has an amazing ability to solve problems that might seem unsolvable. His knowledge of the town and budget is beyond no one else has the knowledge he has.

“We have the unique ability right now to send up to Hartford someone who has more experience in the town of Hamden of anyone we could send — the Board of Education, president of the council, mayor — he has literally done it all,” McGarry said. “We have the opportunity to send someone to Hartford who knows Hamden better than anyone.”

“It’s going to be a loss to the council and he has big shoes to fill in Speaker Sharkey, who fought for Hamden well and we benefited this year in a tough budget year with Brendan being in that position,” Councilman Eric Annes said, seconding Pascarella’s nomination. “We need to replace those shoes with someone who is going to fight for Hamden and go up to Hartford with Hamden on his mind and bring important funding back to Hamden. We have to fight for ECS funding and we have to fight for PILOT funding, and Jim’s eyes are going to be on that ball, so if we want to educate our children, we want to keep our services in Hamden, we need someone up in Hartford bringing back what we deserve and what we have earned, especially with the loss of Brendan. Jim is ready, the experience is there, he knows what he is fighting for and he has been fighting for Hamden for more than 10 years.”
