Yesterday, we assisted the Hamburg Volunteer Fire Department with the annual Hamburg High School EMT class Extrication Day. This hands-on training gives EMT students the opportunity to practice patient removal techniques from vehicles involved in crashes. Students also had the chance to operate the “Jaws of Life” and gain firsthand experience with the challenges emergency responders face when safely removing trapped occupants from a vehicle.

While the program is hosted at Hamburg, students from Frontier High School are also eligible to participate. If your child will be a senior next year and is interested in the class, please have them speak with their guidance counselor for more information.
If you have any questions, please message us on our page or fill out an application at newtonabbottfire.com/application.
