Last week, two of our department’s driving instructors, Corporal J. Michlitsch and Sergeant J. Denning, returned to Arkansas to train with the Arkansas State Police, where they ultimately earned certifications to instruct Emergency Vehicle Operations Courses (EVOC) and Tactical Vehicle Interventions (TVI). These instructors will now have the ability to instruct our officers in these techniques, adding these skills to the driving curriculum that our officers are already certified and tested in biannually. In 2025, ASP participated in over 400 vehicle pursuits, utilizing the TVI in over 200 of those, making them subject matter experts. In other words, Michlitsch and Denning learned from some of the best in the business. This is just another example of how our officers go above and beyond to ensure the safety of our streets and community.

Today your Haltom City Fire Department along with friends and family gathered to celebrate the retirements of Battalion Chief Hoss White and Battalion Chief Michael Lewis.

On the morning of June 16, 2026, officers with the Haltom City Police Department responded to a report of an unresponsive female behind a business in the 3100 block of Denton Highway.

Upon arrival, officers located a 60-year-old female who was unresponsive. Medical personnel responded to the scene and subsequently pronounced her deceased.

The female was last seen alive by family members on June 15, 2026. Family members reported that she had been experiencing medical issues, was unhoused, and was known to stay in the area behind the business. Concerned for her well-being, they returned to check on her this morning and discovered her unresponsive.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and will investigate to determine the cause and manner of death. The Medical Examiner's Office will also be responsible for confirming the decedent's identity and notifying extended family members.

Preliminary information does not indicate any signs of foul play, and there is no threat to the public.

Congratulations to our newest Officers Rodriguez and Tapia on their graduation from the TCC Police Academy. They will now begin in-service training followed by a rigorous and challenging Field Training program. We are happy to have them and wish them a long and successful law enforcement career!

2026 Haltom City Junior Fire/Police Camp is underway this week! 40 5th and 6th graders are joining your first responders for a week of training! Handcuffing, Defensive Tactics, Crime Scene, Incident Command, Fire Science, Mechanical Advantage are just a few of the classes straight from the academy that theyll be learning this week. And a hard days work means a good cool down at the end of the day!

Campers will be at Station 1 and the PD this week so please use caution when driving down Broadway in these areas. Traffic may be stopped while campers hike to and from each location but it wont hold up you up more than 2 or 3 minutes!

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives protecting their communities. Behind every badge is a person who chose a life of service, sacrifice, and commitment to others, knowing the risks that come with the profession.

For the Haltom City Police Department, this day is deeply personal as we remember our own fallen officers, Officer Gary Hires and Officer Kris Hutchison. Their sacrifice is not just part of our department’s history, it is part of our family. Their dedication, courage, and willingness to serve others will never be forgotten, and their impact continues to be felt by those who had the honor of serving beside them.

Today, we also hold close the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry the weight of that loss every day. We remember the lives behind the uniforms and the sacrifices made not only by the officers themselves, but by the loved ones who stood beside them.

May we never forget those who gave everything in service to others. Their watch may have ended, but their legacy lives on.
