Winter just won't go away! Library policy suggests that when USD 440 closes because of snowy, winter weather the Library may close also. Haven't heard about the school closing....yet, but the Library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday because of the bitter cold. However, Libby is always open. Safe warm and safe everyone!

I obviously didn't get the memo about schools being closed today!Usually the Library closes when the schools close for snow days. However, the Library is open. If you are out and about dress warm, drive carefully and drop by and pick up an extra book or two.

There are still plenty of cookbooks for sale. If you've decided to eat more healthy this year, we've pulled out a few cookbooks that will help with that! They all look like they are brand new! Price has dropped to 4 for $1.00!
We also have plenty of paperback fiction books that are 4 for $1.00! The Library is open late on Tuesday's and Thursday's until 7:00.

Happy Birthday Kansas! The mural Tragic Prelude by John Steuart Currry graces a wall at the State Capitol. There is so much symbolism in this mural. FYI did you know that the Library has a Kansas section that is packed full of interesting books about Kansas?

This book came across my desk today, Frog in Winter. Poor frog is not equipped for winter. However, by the end of the book, with the help of his friends Hare, Pig, and Duck, winter doesn't seem so bad. During this long, cold, snowy winter we should all be like Hare, Pig, and Duck.

Have you ever said "I don't know what to cook for supper?" We have the solution. Two different ladies cleaned out their cookbook collections and have donated them to the Library. Let's do the math shall we. If there are approx. 200 cookbooks and each one has, oh let's say, 300 recipes...there are over 60,000 choices for supper! Problem solved! We pulled out several local cookbooks. We especially like the cover of the Bentley P.T.O. Cookbook. Special price, 4 books for $1.00!

This will be our first story time of 2025! Can't wait to see all of you again after our break.

Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird. It's a plane. It's Super Maintenance workers! The clip on our flag was broken during the winter storm and was fixed today by some daring City employees. Thank you so much for taking care of this!
