Come early and enjoy the steam & gas engine show! We are featuring the J.I. Case Heritage Foundation EXPO & the 150HP Case steam engine (the largest traction engine in the world!)

Admission: $10 per person; 12 and under free with adult supervision

Location: 6065 St Hwy O, Ash Grove, MO 65604 / I-44 exit 58 (Halltown exit - south).

Food trucks will be on-site! Bring a lawn chair!

🚨 COUNTY-WIDE BURN BAN IN EFFECT FOR LAWRENCE COUNTY 🚨

By order of the Lawrence County Commissioners and following official authorization from the State Fire Marshal, a temporary County-Wide Burn Ban is now officially in effect for all of Lawrence County.

Due to dangerously dry conditions, high winds, and low humidity, open fires present an extreme hazard to life and property.

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

Open burning of brush, leaves, yard debris, and trash

Campfires, bonfires, and open fire pits

Usage of missile and skyrocket fireworks

PERMITTED ACTIVITIES & EXEMPTIONS

Outdoor Grills: Propane, charcoal, or gas grills utilized strictly for cooking purposes remain allowed, but should be monitored closely.

Agricultural Burning: Agricultural operations following Missouri Department of Conservation Best Management Practices.

State Operations: State agencies responsible for fire management or suppression activities.

ENFORCEMENT & PENALTIES
This ban applies to all unincorporated areas and municipalities without a conflicting local ordinance. Violations carry legal penalties under Missouri Revised Statutes (§ 49.266 RSMo), including potential fines, Class A misdemeanor charges, and restitution for fire department response costs.

Please hold off on all outdoor burning until further notice to keep our community and first responders safe.

🔥 FIRE DANGER ALERT – Halltown Fire Protection District

Southwest Missouri is experiencing exceptionally dry conditions, and we are seeing a significant increase in grass and wildland fires in our area. The combination of low humidity, dry vegetation, and seasonal winds is creating dangerous fire spread potential.

Please take the following precautions:

⚠️ Avoid burning debris, yard waste, or any open burning until conditions improve
⚠️ Do not mow dry grass during the heat of the day — equipment can spark fires
⚠️ Keep vehicles off dry grass — hot exhaust and catalytic converters ignite fires quickly
⚠️ Never discard ci******es from a vehicle window or along roadsides
⚠️ Check local burn bans before any outdoor burning

Fires are spreading rapidly under current conditions. What may seem like a small fire can get out of control within minutes.

If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately. Do not wait to see if it grows.

🚒 60 YEARS IN THE MAKING! 🚒

We are excited and incredibly proud to share that the Halltown Fire Protection District and our community have made a small splash in the latest issue of FFAM (Fire Fighters Association of Missouri) magazine! 🔥

The article highlights our journey and the 60 years of dedication, hard work, and commitment that went into making our new fire truck a reality.

This recognition means a lot to our department and, more importantly, to the community we are honored to serve. Our new apparatus is more than just a truck — it represents 60 years of people coming together, supporting their fire department, and investing in the safety and future of Halltown and the surrounding community.

We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way. From our firefighters and district leadership to our residents, neighboring departments, and everyone who has helped make this possible — THANK YOU!

Extreme heat warning now expanded to all of swmo. until Sunday . Heat Index could reach 115. Moving forward for the next 4 days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday the NWS cautions that for every 15 min outside in the sunlight you should cool for 45 min.
