๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜ŠThe Saturday morning Granite City Park community volunteers are just G.O.A.T. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

Volunteers took on clearing weeds and placing wood chips on the park slope that was planted in June with common junipers and Virginia roses. The first picture is the after, wow! It looks great going into colder seasons and all the plants are doing well.

W**d whacking, weeding, and watering also was done throughout the ecology restoration areas.

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘Thanks to Tree Board & HCC volunteersโ€ฆJohn D, John J, Wes, Jon, Sylvie, Bill, Anthony, Rosemary, Abi, Bailey, and Juliet. Wood chips delivered by Hallowell Public Works, thank you! ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒณ

Next month, join us on the morning of Sept 26! The plan is a PLANTING session supported by the generous donation from Kennebec Savings Bank. Additional native species will be added to this hill and another slope in the park. Stop by!

Shout out to community volunteers that have been helping with the 2026 Vaughan Brook stream monitoring program this summer. These folks get up early, take measurements, record readings, and always end with a smile and greater appreciation for Hallowellโ€™s stream and its ecosystem.

Thank you to Jean, Deborah, and Millie and her son.
