Hallandale Beach Human Services Department The Human Services Department provides social services to the residents of Hallandale Beach, Florida.

The Department is housed in the Hepburn Center, a multi-purpose facility named in honor of Austin Hepburn, Jr., a Hallandale Beach Police Officer who lost his life in the line of duty. The Center provides a wide array of comprehensive services to meet the needs of the Community.

Today is the "free" Monthly Food Distribution at the Hepburn Center (1000 NW 8th Avenue, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009) , Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 8:00am to 1:00pm or until all food has been distributed to anyone in need of food.

The City of Hallandale Beach now distributes food items from the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) USDA on the 1st Wednesday of the Month to Broward County residents. Participants must register for this program to receive TEFAP USDA food items only. Contact the Human Services Department at the Hepburn Center to schedule an appointment with a Social Worker to determine your eligibility at (954) 457-1460.

Participants are recommended to bring a foldable 4-wheel grocery shopping cart or reusable bag to carry all food items. The Monthly food distribution has transitioned to walk-up operation only. There is no drive-through distribution. Drivers can park in the front parking lot and walk to the rear of the building to pick up distributed food items. The walk-up line will start on the east side of the building located on Northwest 7th Terrace by the roundabout. Participants should line up with a minimum of six feet apart (social distancing) on the sidewalk.

Proceeds will benefit the children enrolled in the Hepburn Center After School Tutorial Enrichment, Spring and Summer Camp Programs.

Today, Monday, August 17, 2026, Women in Distress (WID) will be accepting donations on-site at the Hepburn Center/O B Johnson Park Facility (1000 NW 8th Avenue Hallandale Beach, FL 33009) from 9am-1pm accepting new and slightly used clothing for women and children who are impacted by Domestic Violence (see attached event flyer). Yes, men clothing, shoes, etc. are accepted too!

Right now WID is also in critical need of baby bottles, utensils, bowls, and plates.

The next "free" Monthly Food Distribution at the Hepburn Center (1000 NW 8th Avenue, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009) will happen on today, Wednesday, August 5th, 2026, from 9:00am to 1:00pm or until all food has been distributed to anyone in need of food. Please note that the Hepburn Center will be observing it's summer distribution hours in July and August only from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

The Hepburn Senior Mini Center field trips are the best for program participants! This time, they enjoyed making flowers with socialization, fun and creativity!!!

If you are age 60 and older, we encourage you to register for the program today by calling 954-457-1460. Don't sit home alone in isolation, join a center where you can meet new friends and enjoy great outings!
