☀️ South Florida summer is turning up the heat.

With temperatures climbing over the next several days, now is a good time to slow down, stay hydrated, and check in on family, friends, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

Remember:
💧 Drink plenty of water
🧢 Wear light-colored clothing
🌳 Take breaks in the shade
🐾 Keep pets cool and avoid hot pavement

A little preparation can go a long way toward staying safe and comfortable this summer.

To help improve drainage and reduce the time water remains on roadways after storms, the City of Hallandale Beach has increased maintenance of its stormwater system in the northeast section of the city. Following a major cleaning of large-diameter underground stormwater pipes in 2021, Public Works has continued proactive maintenance efforts by increasing the cleaning schedule from previous years to every two years.

These behind-the-scenes improvements help water move more efficiently through the system, supporting safer travel and faster recovery after heavy rainfall events.

As part of our Behind the Budget series, Budget Director Natasha Mazzie reminds us that the City's budget supports the services, projects, and priorities that keep Hallandale Beach moving forward.

Want to learn more about how your tax dollars are invested in the community?
