What’s under your feet? More than you might think.

When it rains, an entire system is working to help manage stormwater throughout Hallandale Beach. It starts at the street, where catch basins collect runoff and direct it into a network of underground pipes. When gravity alone isn’t enough, pump stations help keep that water moving.

And the system doesn’t maintain itself. City crews work throughout the year to inspect, clean, maintain and improve the infrastructure that helps manage stormwater across our community.

Your Stormwater Utility Fee provides dedicated funding to support this work—from catch basins and pipes to pumps and system improvements.

Seasonal King Tides are predicted along South Florida’s East Coast from Sept. 8–15, with additional high-tide periods expected through December.

King Tides can temporarily raise water levels and cause flooding in low-lying streets, parking areas, driveways and waterfront properties—even when the weather is clear. Rainfall, wind and ocean conditions may cause actual water levels to be higher or lower than predicted.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to avoid walking or driving through floodwater, allow extra travel time and move vehicles or valuables from areas that commonly flood. Never drive around a barricade or enter a closed roadway.
