The Halifax Police Department pauses in remembrance of the men and women whose lives were lost in the tragedy of 9/11, 25 years ago.

Let us honor and remember the sacrifices of all those brave citizens, emergency personnel, first responders, and others that acted to save lives. We thank all those that united together in the days following to bring our country and communities together with strength and courage.

May we never forget, and always stand United as we remember September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

The Halifax Police Department is investigating a recent breaking and entering in the Canterbury area and requesting assistance from anyone who may have any information pertaining to this investigation.

If you have observed any suspicious activity, have any surveillance or camera footage, or have any other information regarding this incident, we ask you to please contact Sergeant J. Florence at 434-476-3334.

As a reminder, plase keep vehicles locked and take inside valuable items, money and fi****ms.

Please report all suspicious activity to E-911 Communications via 911 or the non-emergency line at (434) 476-3334.
You may call the Halifax Police Department office line at (434) 476-2526 for more information and an Officer will get back to you.

If anyone has any information, please call in. Be advised, tips can be reported anonymously.

Good Evening,

The Halifax Police Department thanks everyone who came out and helped support National Night Out. Unfortunately, the event was cut short due to inclement weather.

At this time, there is also a reported tree down on Maple Avenue. VDOT and Dominion have been notified.

Please use caution when traveling in this area.

The Halifax Police Department express our sincerest condolences to the Appomattox County Sheriff's Office and the family of Deputy Burlie Duvall III who was killed in the line of duty.

Please Lord, guide and watch over his friends and family and all of the agencies affected by this tragic loss.
