Residents and travelers within the Town are advised to use caution while traveling due to the extended heavy rain we are receiving. At this time, Railroad Ave at Summit Dr is closed due to flash flooding. There are numerous areas of standing water and some reports of downed trees. Remember to turn around- don't drown.

Drive safe everyone!

The Halifax Police Department wishes everyone a safe Memorial Day as we honor and remember those that served in the military and gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Let us all take a moment to remember the sacrifice of our men and women in the armed forces and honor them all.

Nearly all boating-related fatalities are the result of drowning and most of these fatalities could have been prevented if a life jacket was worn.

There must be one wearable (Type I, II, III, or V) USCG approved life jacket for each person on the boat. The life jacket must be the appropriate size for each intended wearer.
