What a wonderful day we had for our hometown celebration! Our morning began with a Community Fair on the Town Green, filled with talented vendors, festive face painting, a mobile cranberry bog from Jim Hayward, a children’s seed-planting activity, antique tractors, and a delicious BBQ Fundraiser Lunch served by Sarcastic Swine.

We then moved the celebration over to Halifax Elementary School and the Holmes Public Library, where the library parking lot quickly filled with delicious food trucks and vendors, including ’s Special Events, Jules Fried Dough, Lolly Jolly Waffle Bar, Local Larry’s Tacos, Lobsta Love, Pucker Up Lemonade, Smiles by the Miles, South Shore Smokehouse, and the Halifax Fireworks Committee Concession Trailer.

The evening was full of food, music, face painting, and community spirit. We were treated to a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem by Sophia, great entertainment from DJ Mark Grant, and once darkness fell, the night ended with an amazing fireworks display donated by our generous donor, Flower & Soul. What a show it was!

Events like this do not happen without countless behind-the-scenes
details, and so many of those details were taken care of by volunteers, local small businesses, and supporters from our own community. To Grille 58 and Harmony Liquors, thank you for providing ice for our Concession Trailer throughout the day.

Nessralla Farms, thank you for donating the potting soil that helped make the children’s planting activity such a success. Justin Keeley and Nathan Campbell, thank you for organizing the antique tractors and helping make that part of the day so special.

To our hard-working town workers that went above and beyond. To the Halifax Police Department thank you for doing double duty – at the event while still monitoring the entire town. The Halifax Highway Department – all the fencing, signs, trash barrels, cones, and your time – thank you. Did you know that the Fire Department needs to have a crew member with the fireworks from the moment that the fireworks cross into our town line? Thank you to the department for covering that duty all day, being there during the event, and still on duty for the town as well. A shout out to the Plympton Fire department as well for the assist!

To Alan Dias, thank you for taking on the lights, parking duty, and parking lot cleanup with such ease and generosity. To Country Rentals Inc, thank you for helping bring our community together by providing a seating area where people could sit, relax, and enjoy a meal together.

To our student volunteers, we truly appreciate all your hard work setting up and breaking down. To the Beautification Committee, thank you for lending extra hands for cleanup and helping make a “dirty job” quick and manageable. And to all the other behind-the-scenes helpers, please know that we could not have done it without you.

Plans are already in motion for our 2027 Celebration! We would love to hear any ideas or thoughts of what we could add to the event. If anyone is interested in volunteering on the committee, please contact us.

Again, The Halifax Fireworks Committee sincerely thanks everyone who helped, volunteered, donated, supported, and attended this year’s celebration. Your kindness, generosity, and community spirit are what make Halifax such a special place.
