After this long winter, as we clean up our yards, we want to share a few reminders regarding our brush chipping program and its intension.
The program was put in place to assist our residents with after storm clean up and for trimming trees that have grown too close to your home or around your yard. Not for the clearing of property or clearing of wooded areas next to your residence. We know brush piles canโt be stacked perfectly but please stack your pile of brush neat as possible with butt end (cut end) towards the street.
As a reminder, we do not chip:
From companies hired to do work at your home.
The pile is not neatly stacked (no jig-saw puzzle piles).
Piles with just vines or briars with no hardwood (the chipper shoot gets clogged).
The branches or logs are too large (anything over 12โ in diameter is too large for our chipper).
Too short (log chunks under 3โ long are unsafe and could jam the chipper barrel).
No root balls, railroad ties, or landscape timbers.
We do not have a set schedule for our chipper crew to go around town. If you would like this service, call our office to be placed on the list when the list is full; we send the crew out.
We continue to offer, bring your brush to us at the Highway Barn from 8 am- noon on the last Saturday of the month.
