Detention Center HVAC System Update

Due to water flow issues the detention center’s primary HVAC unit is currently experiencing issues. To ensure the continued safety and comfort of all individuals within the facility, contingency measures have been implemented and remain fully operational.

While the main air conditioning system has had difficulty maintaining optimal temperatures, industrial-grade cooling units have been deployed throughout the detention center to supplement the system. These units are effectively maintaining safe and comfortable temperatures for both detainees and staff.

We understand that family members may hear concerns from loved ones housed in the facility. However, reports suggesting that individuals are being housed without air conditioning are inaccurate.

Although the primary HVAC unit requires supplemental support, the industrial cooling units are providing air-conditioned environments throughout the housing areas.

These temporary cooling systems will remain in place until repairs to the main HVAC unit are completed. The detention center remains fully operational, and safe temperatures continue to be maintained throughout the facility.

The safety, health, and well-being of both detainees and staff remain our highest priorities. We appreciate the public’s concern and continued support for those housed and working within our detention center.
