Hello everyone!

Tomorrow is the start of our summer rec program for 2026! We will be sending out updates weekly during the summer here and by email via our parent newsletter. There will be a QR code to scan at check in and check out to get our weekly parent newsletter via email starting Wednesday, but as always if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Please remember our doors open at 7:30 AM on Monday, June 15th and all children must be picked up by or before 4:30 PM. Please allow for an extra 5 to 10 minutes for the first day of check-in so that we can review field trips, emergency contact information, and ask you specific questions from your child’s registration. We will have our staff walking the kids to their specific areas to begin the day and to help with those who might be new this year.

T-shirts will not be handed out on the first day. They instead will be handed out next Tuesday, June 23rd before our first field trip for the 5-8 year old group to Kids Empire. All kids will receive their shirts that day if present.

Please remember, we do have a concession stand that will sell juice, Gatorade, and soda to drink throughout the day. We will also sell candy, popsicles, and bags of chips at different points throughout the day. During lunch, we do sell chicken nuggets, corn dogs, pizza by the slice or the option to purchase a whole pizza for those who do not pack their own lunch. There will be a poster board with all of our prices at check in. We do typically set up an allergy free table or two, so please reach out if you have a child who may need to sit at an allergy free table.

We also have money cards for our 5-8 year old group where you can put money on the card so your child won’t have to carry their money around. You can also set up how much you will allow them to spend each day and what they can buy.

Many people will ask what their child should bring for each day, and we can say for the first week children will not need to bring anything out of the ordinary. You may want to send them with a water bottle that they can refill throughout the day, but any other items brought to the Rec will be the sole responsibility of the child. We try to keep all of their belongings separated, but want to make sure kids do not lose anything from home.

We do have a new cell phone policy for kids. No 5-8 year old should have a phone or any electronic devices. If your child is 9-13 years old they can bring a phone. They will have designated times to use their phones from 7:30-9:00, 11:40-12:30 and 3:15-4:30. Otherwise the expectation is they are not on their phones while at rec. Our focus is for your child(ren)to stay actively engaged at rec in games, sports and art activities by limiting the amount of time spent on any electronic devices. If they have permission to leave rec unsupervised for the library or lunch they will have their phones. If you need to contact them outside of those times in case of emergency please use the number below.

Our staff set up for the summer on Saturday and are looking forward to another fantastic summer and cannot wait for tomorrow to arrive! If there are any further questions, please email at [email protected] or call/text 414-840-4513.
