The Hale Area Schools Track is being refurbished this summer, beginning the first week of June. If you are someone who uses this to walk on, we apologize for the inconvenience, but feel free to walk around the football field where the old track once was.

This project should be complete by early to mid August.

To the Hale Area Schools Community,

As I previously announced, due to the amount of Act of God days we had during the 2025-26 school year, we needed to add two days to the school calendar. This was to help you make arrangements for a new end of the year date. I also mentioned that there was legislation pending that may forgive some more days, and if so, we would go back.

I am happy to announce that Governor Whitmer has signed legislation that forgives the two days we needed to make up. As a result, we will revert to the original last days of school, which are half days on June 3th and 4th.

A few other dates and events you should be aware of:

High School Graduation Friday, May 29 - 7:00 PM
5th and 6th Grade Band Concert Tuesday, June 2 - 1:00 PM
Kindergarten Graduation Wednesday, June 3 - 9:00 AM

Thank you for your cooperation and together we will finish the school year strong.

Go Eagles,

Jeffrey J. Yorke, Superintendent

Dear Parents,

It takes a village. I know most of you have heard this phrase. I do believe it is true in schools. We as a staff with the parents must work together to help our students navigate the ever-changing world and their spot in it. Parenting is difficult, as is educating your children, so we must work together.

As our students travel through the preschool ages and elementary school, it is imperative the children learn the basics all stemming from as much consistency as possible - in routines, to how to be polite, and take turns, and play. This helps the children when they get to school and start the academic portion of their life.

Our youth then move into middle and high school age where social expectations and pressures change. Managing relationships becomes an area of concern, and these relationships are much more complicated by social media. It is crucial that families build relationships of trust with their children, including closely monitoring social media. At the school, we have many discussions regarding this, as well as presentations from staff and law enforcement. I plead with parents to regularly check their children’s devices and social media accounts as there are so many really troublesome areas for them to get themselves involved with.

Together, we must do our best to raise children in a new world.

Educationally Yours,
Jeffrey J. Yorke Superintendent
