The City of Hale Center is issuing a Boil Water Notice! We are asking the residents not to drink the water until further notice! Several residents have indicated that they have had purple-brownish water. We are taking samples to a lab in Lubbock to have them analyzed! You can still use the water to flush your toilet!

The city will be spraying for mosquitoes either this evening or early tomorrow morning weather permitting! Hopefully the wind will be 8 mph or lower, and the temperature below 80 degrees. If you have any standing water please dump it out! REMINDER refresh your pets water every three to four days! Thank you!

This Johnny Ruiz with City of Hale Center I would like to apologize for not posting this sooner! I recently mailed out some letters to some residents about galvanized water lines! TCEQ required the city to send out these letters. In the letter it states that if you have any galvanized lines that it is recommended that you replace them due to possible lead in the pipes! Every city in the United States has to submit a similar letter! This is because of the Flint Michigan incident which occurred with lead found in their water system! The city does a lead and copper sampling every three years as required by TCEQ and all are water samples have come back negative! The city also takes monthly water samples, and they also come back negative of any contaminates. The City of Hale Center has safe drinking water!
