Wilton on Jackson Creek

Wilton on Jackson Creek Wilton was built in 1737 and is located in Westmoreland County on Jackson Creek near Hague, VA.

It is an excellent example of high Georgian style constructed of brick in Flemish bond with glazed headers.

Great family run business. Customer service can’t be beat! Plaster products are excellent.

Another late evening plastering. New shipment didn’t arrive till late, but in time to finish the section I started.

Continuing on to the master bedroom. Because the brick wall is uneven, lots of plaster is used just to level it out.

Starting a new phase in the restoration of Wilton: plastering the interior brick walls.

No, I’ve never done it before! But a brief class and much instruction on YouTube has given me the confidence to move forward.

Another determining factor is the price tag of hiring a competent tradesman.

So here goes…

It is a 3 or 4 coat process. Here I’ve finished the first base coat. This will need to dry for several days before the next application.

After hiring a professional tile man, we’ve got three nice showers finished!

This was after having to rip out a bad tile job. The professional tile job was less expensive and didn’t require a prefabricated shower pan. Shower pan was formed in the shower.
