Please be weather-aware as we head into the evening and overnight hours. Do not drive over downed power lines if you encounter any.

Please only call 911 for emergencies. Our dispatchers are outstanding at taking calls and dispatching the appropriate help, but do not overwhelm them because your power is out.

Report outages to the appropriate service provider for our area, which is either Hagerstown Utilities, Duke Energy, or Whitewater Valley Rural Electric Membership Corporation.

This weather event will come while most people are asleep, making it potentially more dangerous. Take the wind we had Friday and add the extra risks of rain, lightning, and possibly tornadoes. Please make sure you take a little bit to prepare during the day tomorrow.

Late last night, around 12:30 AM, your MWTFD members were dispatched to a Semi-Trailer on fire at the 140 Mile Marker Eastbound Interstate 70. Upon arrival, units found a fully involved trailer on fire with fire spreading to a yard directly south of the interstate.

Additional support was requested from Centerville Fire, Cambridge City Fire, and Hagerstown Fire. The fire was brought under control and extinguished by all agencies. We would like to thank all responding Fire Departments and would also like to thank Englewood Towing, and Wayne County Sheriffs Department for their quick response and assistance as well.

Milton units marked back in service around 4:30AM, and debris were cleared with road re-opening around 6:30AM.
