In a few short minutes after 3AM, A-Shift was dispatched to and handled the following almost simultaneously:

-Medic 751: Priority 1 STEMI (heart attack) patient with catherization lab activation
-Medic 752: Priority 1 respiratory patient requiring ALS intervention
-Medic 753: Sick person at a local shelter
-Medics 754 & 755: Delivery of a healthy baby girl
-Medic 759: Ventilator patient at a skilled nursing facility

Congrats to CRS's newest cleared Paramedic, Caleb Nancarvis! Caleb has been an EMT with CRS for over 2 years, and graduated recently from the Washington County DES Paramedic Class 25-03. He will be assigned to Wednesday/Saturday Kelly Relief.

Congratulations to the team of Paramedic DePartee and EMT Porter, who were recently awarded the CRS STEMI Pin!

On a recent call for a patient having a STEMI, aka myocardial infarction (heart attack), they met the following criteria:
- Vitals within 3 minutes of patient contact.
- Aspirin within 4 minutes of patient contact.
- A 12-lead EKG was obtained and transmitted to the ER physician within 10 minutes.
- On-scene time was 15 minutes or less.
- STEMI alert activation was recorded.
- STEMI was confirmed via CRS QA/QI ER follow-up.

This evening, A-Shift Medics 751, 752, 754, 755 and Duty 75 (Captain Bingaman), along with Hagerstown Fire and Hagerstown Police, responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving a transit bus and a car on Dual Highway at Eastern Blvd in the The City of Hagerstown.
