We at Children In Need, Inc. have had the immense privilege of watching many of you grow and flourish over the years. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have led you to this incredible milestone. Please help us wish Happy Birthday to our longest serving volunteer, Marjie! She has been with Children In Need, Inc. for over two decades years and is a huge part of why our agency is able to serve so many kiddos!

Marjie is one of our dedicated volunteers who checks in our clients and helps manage our client database alongside Ms. Liz. We adore her!

Saddle up for a night of fun and giving back at Soles of Hope: Wild Wild West on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Elmwood Farm Bed and Breakfast in Williamsport. This 21 and older event supports Children In Need, Inc. and promises a lively hoedown you won’t want to miss. Early Bird are available now at the link in the comments!

Event highlights include live music by Mike Kuster, BBQ by Still Smokin' BBQ, charcuterie from Ruth's Market, sweet treats by Creative Cookies by Angie and Delisha, drinks by Conor The Irish Bartender, line dancing with Terry Headlee, plus lasso demonstrations, co****le, raffles, tip jars and more!

Proceeds raised will be used to purchase new shoes for kids right here in Washington County!

Big news! The Bridge Project, currently available in 12 states and supporting more than 3,900 mothers across the United States with essential benefits, is for a short time now reviewing applications for expectant mothers in the South End!

We are working through San Mar Treatment Foster Care ENOUGH sub grantee Child Care Choices to maximize access and help with filling out applications to this innovative and unique resource for families over the next two weeks, and we have a goal of completing 75 applications for South End families, help us spread the word! A very special thanks to our partners at Meritus Health for their critical support.

Application criteria are very specific for expectant mothers at 27 weeks or less (with priority for 20-27 weeks) in zip code 21740. See the attached flyer for key details,

Please help us congratulate Brandan Lee who is Children In Need, Inc.'s 2026 Art Richards Scholarship Recipient!

The Art Richards Scholarship Fund, established by Children In Need, Inc. in 2025 and sponsored this year by CNB Bank, Inc. and Mike and Mary Ellen South, proudly carries forward Art Richards’ vision of creating brighter futures for students across Washington County through access to higher education and opportunity!

Our Board Members April Jackson and Jacob Menard were honored to present this scholarship to Brandan, whose passion for computer science and graphic design reflects the creativity, determination, and potential this scholarship was created to support!

As Brandan begins his journey at Hagerstown Community College, we know he has an incredibly bright future ahead and we cannot wait to see all that he accomplishes!

Please join us in congratulating our Board Member, Grant Diefenderfer, on being sworn into the Air National Guard last week!

After completing basic training, Grant will serve as a Non Destructive Inspection (NDI) specialist, helping inspect C 17 aircraft for imperfections and cracks in the metal to ensure the safety and readiness of these incredible aircraft.

We are so proud of Grant for stepping into this important role of service and dedication to our country. Congratulations, Grant, on this exciting next chapter. We cannot wait to cheer you on throughout your journey!

Please join us in congratulating our incredible volunteer, Tati Báez, on graduating yesterday as part of Hagerstown Community College's largest graduating class ever! We are so proud of all of her hard work and dedication as she pursues a career in nursing.

Tati has generously volunteered her time with Children In Need while balancing the demands of school, and we know she is going to make an amazing impact in the lives of others through her future career in healthcare.
