We sincerely thank all of you who came out to visit our Open House today. It was a huge success!

A special thank you to all the volunteer and career staff for organizing, cleaning and prepping the station and apparatus for today’s event.

Those of you who missed it - we’ll definitely be doing another next year.

In addition, we will be holding a few fundraisers at the new annex in the coming months - including our famous Pit Beef sandwiches during the Peach Festival.

We hope to see you soon and thank you for your continued support.

Folks we’re going to have a gorgeous day today, so come on out and join us at our OPEN HOUSE from 10-3.
We have plenty of activities planned for adult and kids alike.
Come out and see the fire apparatus, meet the firefighters and enjoy free refreshments.

10 am - Annex dedication followed by the fire truck housing.

Free bounce house for the kids.

Fire prevention materials.

A display of photos and a little history will be located in the annex.

The day will round out with an auto extrication demonstration at around 2:30.

Parking - if you park along the street, please don’t block anyone’s driveway. We don’t need that kind of drama in our life.

It’s supposed to be SUNNY and in the 70s this Saturday!

Join us from 10-3 at our OPEN HOUSE on May 30th.

A day chock full of activities, including a dedication ceremony of the new annex, a fire truck housing ceremony for our new Special Unit, the WCVFRA Safety Trailer will be on display, Fire truck display, historical pictures and articles from our 70 years of service, and much more.

ALL FREE.

Kids can spray the fire hose, and we may even have a bounce house to play in - also temporary tattoos and face painting are planned.

There will be FREE FOOD and refreshments provided, so stop by and say hi!

Finally, we will be providing an automobile extrication demonstration to wrap up the day.

The Memorial Day holiday has passed and the unofficial start of Summer is here. We know you’ve been working all winter on that beach body, so we want to reward you with a little $$$ for doing such a good job.

Today, we remember those men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our Country.

Throughout the picnics and parades, please consider taking a moment and thinking about what this day is truly about, close your eyes, open your mind, ponder your freedom and whisper a sincere “Thank You”.

Units alerted to assist with a search of 2 missing hikers along the Appalachian Trail.
Last known location was the Ensign Cowall Shelter heading north.
An extensive search of the trail was conducted between Wolfsville Road and High Rock. The nighttime search was complicated by heavy rainfall and wind throughout the operation.
Around daybreak, the hikers were located in the area of the AT just north of High Rock below a series of intense switchbacks.
An extraction team comprised of multiple agencies located and removed the hikers to an awaiting ambulance crew for check-up. One was transported to MMC for further evaluation.
Multiple agencies worked in a collaborative effort to locate and remove the hikers to safety. A great job by all in such adverse weather conditions lead to this successful operation.
Units cleared the scene around 08:30.
