Company 16 responded to Route 66 for a report of a tree down across the roadway. Thanks to the quick teamwork between the Crew 5 personnel from Station 16, local farmers with a skid loader with forks, and a local firefighter who witnessed the tree fall directly in front of his vehicle — fortunately without striking it — crews were able to make quick work of clearing the roadway and reopening it safely.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to our Fire Police personnel for safely diverting traffic and providing a secure work area for crews operating on scene. Incidents like these are a great reminder of how strong community teamwork and cooperation help keep everyone safe.
