Tonight we trained with our extrication equipment, JAWS, stabilization tools and utilized many different approaches... some worked, some did not... which makes for highly effective training. A shout out to Capt. Tunison for prepping the vehicle and to the Sheatzley family for their donation of the Jeep.

Shout out to Oxford Overhead Door! A cable rusted out and broke Wednesday night. Their crew was there Thursday morning for a quick and professional fix... much appreciated!

Running all the pumps... practice makes perfect. Throw some monkey wrenches in the works and discover all the ways you can achieve a draft and flow water. If there is one thing we can hang our hat on... it's moving a lot of water.

Radio reprogramming this morning. Inputting Oakland County channels so we can improve communications with our neighboring fire departments to the south. In my opinion, Lapeer County Central Dispatch (911) is the finest in the State!

A series of events--during an ice storm--that saved a garage. The gentleman on the left was driving past this garage that had caught on fire. He and his wife banged on the door but no one was home. He then honked his horn until a neighbor came out and called 911. He also called retired Fire Chief George Lieber (another neighbor). Chief Lieber, the neighbor and good samaritan extinguished the flames with a garden hose... saving the garage! Great job fellas!

On another NOTE... this fire was caused by a child's lithium-powered vehicle. I don't believe it was charging at the time. Be very cautious with any lithium batteries.
