On Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country 🇺🇸

For communities like Haddonfield, remembrance has long been part of the American story. From the Revolutionary era onward, generations have answered the call to serve, carrying forward ideals of sacrifice, duty, and civic responsibility.

As we reflect today, we remember not only the history we reenact, but the real lives connected to it and the generations who followed.

Happy Birthday to Captain Robert “Bob” O’Connell 🎉

At the Haddonfield Skirmish, Captain O’Connell is portrayed by Bob Ca****la.
Beyond the field, his leadership as the President of the Friends of Indian King Tavern Museum helps preserve and share the very history he portrays, strengthening our town’s connection to its Revolutionary roots.

Historical reenactors do more than wear uniforms. They study the lives, ranks, and responsibilities of the individuals they portray, helping audiences experience history in a meaningful and accurate way.

💌 Colonial Valentines for Kids

In the 18th century, Valentines were handwritten and made by hand. No cards. No candy wrappers. Just paper, words, and a little creativity.

We’re inviting kids to make their own colonial-style Valentine at home.

✂️ Write a Valentine
✏️ Cut it out
🏛 Bring it to the museum

Children who bring a handmade Valentine to the Indian King Tavern Museum on Feb 6, 7, 13 or 14 will receive a Valentine treat as a thank-you for keeping history alive.

🗓 Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at the Haddonfield Skirmish 🇺🇸
