🌳✂️ Ribbon Cutting at Hackettstown Crossing Park! 🎉

On Friday, Mayor Jerry DiMaio, along with Matt Leshetz, Vice President of Construction & Development at Landmark Companies, LLC, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Hackettstown Crossing Park.

The new 3-acre park features a walking path and is maintained by the Hackettstown Crossing HOA while remaining open to the public. 🚶‍♀️🌿

📍 The park can be accessed from Third Street or East Stiger Street.

A great new place for residents and visitors to enjoy! 🌳

🧹 Fall Clean Up is September 11 & 12! 🧹

Town of Hackettstown residents ONLY can bring accepted household items to the Miller Street Fire House (101 Miller Street) during the Fall Clean Up. Items will not be collected curbside.

📍 Fall Clean Up Dates:

• Friday, September 11, 2026 — 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Saturday, September 12, 2026 — 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

⚠️ Proof of residency is required, and the town is not responsible for damage during unloading.

♿ Special Assistance: Anyone handicapped or 65 years or older who cannot bring their items for drop-off must call the D.P.W. Garage at (908) 852-2320 to schedule curbside pick-up.

✅ Household items only

❌ Not accepted:

• Yard waste (grass, brush, branches, etc.)
• Hazardous materials (propane tanks, tires, concrete, asphalt, paint, etc.)

🦟 Mosquito Spraying Scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31

The Warren County Mosquito Control Commission is planning a treatment for adult mosquito control in portions of Hackettstown.

📅 Date: Monday, Aug. 31, 2026
📅 Alternate Date: Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026
⏰ Time: 8:15 p.m. – 11:59 p.m.

📍 HACKETTSTOWN: Jay Court, Seymour Terrace, Mitchell Road, Shelley Drive and Mountain Avenue

The application will be made with a truck-mounted ultra-low volume sprayer. The truck is well marked as a mosquito commission vehicle. The application will be made as close to sunset as possible to increase its contact with actively flying mosquitoes.

Spraying for adult mosquitoes is done on a limited and very localized basis to protect the public health from mosquito-borne illnesses.

• Zenivex E4 (EPA Reg. #2724-807) — Active Ingredient: Etofenprox
• Fyfanon ULV (EPA Reg. #279-3539) — Active Ingredient: Malathion

The NJ Motor Vehicle Commission Mobile Unit will be in Hackettstown on Monday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Miller Street Firehouse, 101 Miller Street.

✅ E-bike registration
✅ Initial permits
✅ Non-driver ID

🚧 MADISON STREET IMPROVEMENTS UPDATE 🚧

The Town of Hackettstown, through its contractor, Top Line Construction Corporation (“Top Line”), will continue work on the NJDOT FY2024 & FY2025 Madison Street Improvements Project, Phases I & II, on or about Monday, August 31, 2026. The paving work is anticipated to be completed by Friday, September 4, 2026.

At this time, the curb, curb ramp and sidewalk work has been completed. The contractor will begin milling and paving the full length of Madison Street, starting at Warren Street and working toward Valentine Street.

🚜 Monday, August 31 through Wednesday, September 2: Milling
🛣️ Thursday, September 3 through Friday, September 4: Paving

⏰ Monday through Thursday Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
⏰ Friday Work Hours: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

🌧️ All dates/times are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.

🚫 NO PARKING: During the week of August 31 through September 4, please avoid parking within the above Madison Street roadway limits from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

🚧 During this work, the entire length of Madison Street will be closed to through traffic. Police will be on site to assist with a detour around the work area.
