We’ll have a BBQ with food provided for the kids, games, activities, and plenty of opportunities for our youth to interact with and get to know our first responders.

It’s a great night to hang out, have some fun, meet new friends, and build relationships with the members of our community who are here to support them.

Would you like to join the Bergen County's Domestic Violence Response Team?

The Domestic Vioence Response Team (DVRT) partners with Bergen County police departments to provide immediate support to survivors of domestic violence.

DVRT volunteers offer emotional support, safety planning, information about DV, and connections to emergency housing, legal resources, counseling, and other community services. They can also assist survivors with the Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) application process, helping survivors take informed steps toward safety and healing.

Off-Duty Detective Steps In to Help Fellow Officer

On August 22, 2026, Hackensack Police Detective Michael Reo was off duty when he witnessed a Fairfield Police officer involved in a rapidly escalating encounter during a motor vehicle stop.

Without hesitation, Detective Reo stepped in to assist Corporal Jeffrey Dean, who was attempting to gain control of an uncooperative suspect. Additional Fairfield officers arrived shortly afterward, and the suspect was taken into custody. A loaded handgun was later recovered from the suspect’s waistband.

Detective Reo’s actions are a powerful reminder that the law enforcement family looks out for one another—on duty or off duty. We are proud of his quick response, courage, and commitment to helping a fellow officer and keeping our communities safe.

Back-to-School Safety Reminders

With the new school year here, we wanted to share a few easy reminders to help keep our students safe. Please slow down, stay alert, respect our crossing guards, and give yourself a little extra time when traveling through our school zones.

A few seconds of extra caution can make a big difference. Let’s work together to make it a safe and successful school year for everyone!

After an incredible 30 years of service, we congratulate Sgt. Kley Peralta on his well-deserved retirement.

From starting his career in Corrections and SOG in 1996, to serving with PIP, HSI, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, and ultimately the Hackensack Police Department, Sgt. Peralta has built an impressive career dedicated to law enforcement and the community.

Throughout the years, he served in Patrol, Narcotics, Juvenile, Traffic, and Community Engagement, while also sharing his experience by teaching at the Police Academy.

Thirty years of service is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to his dedication and commitment.

Thank you, Sgt. Peralta, for your service, leadership, and dedication. Congratulations on your retirement.

Back-to-school season is right around the corner!

We were proud to help support the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative, a volunteer nonprofit organization providing free medical care to low-income working families throughout Bergen County.

This year, we were happy to provide backpacks for the families they support in our community. It’s just one small way we can help make sure local children start the school year prepared and ready to learn.

We’re proud to support organizations that make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.
