Cass County DFL

Cass County DFL Welcome to the official page of the Cass County MN DFL! Prepared and paid for by the Cass County DFL, P.O. Box 276, Hackensack MN 56452

We work to elect endorsed candidates and serve the residents of Cass County by connecting local people with candidates, hosting our annual dinner and pancake breakfast, being present in our local communities by organizing “meet-and-greets”, listening sessions, parade marches, phone banking, door knocking, letter writing, fundraising, putting up lawn signs — whatever needs to be done, that’s what the Cass County DFL does! The more volunteers we have, the more the Cass County DFL can accomplish.

We can use your help, in whatever way you might feel comfortable. Delivering or picking up signs. Door knocking. Phone calling. Writing letters to the editor. Creating art for our posters. Behind-the-scenes work on a fundraising project. Allowing campaign signs in your yard.

Think of your talents and the level of anonymity you wish to have. There are places for everyone. Or maybe you just need a hour or two to sit alone in a quiet place and have coffee. We can provide that, too.

Water travels the watershed through rivers, lakes, and underground, often carrying pollutants to our rivers and lakes, city water systems, and private wells.

Common pollutants like Nitrate and Chloride can cause serious health issues, and building new water treatment systems to keep city water safe is costly for taxpayers.

Our legislators should care for our community’s health and finances by investing in keeping our water clean, like climate-resilient infrastructure and protection of forests and wetlands.

Mining is an important part of our state’s economy and legacy. We support mining that prioritizes the local workforce, benefits our economy, and protects the environment, but the foreign mining company threatening the Boundary Waters has shown they don’t care about these concerns.

We’ve been told this mine will bring prosperity, but did you know we’ll need to ship the metal to Asia for processing since we don’t have the capacity in the U.S? Then we’ll have to buy it back with the Trump tariffs applied.

Heavy metals remain in the human body for decades after copper, nickel, and cobalt mining ceases, causing a slew of illnesses. Antofagasta already has a dismal track record of environmental destruction and experts have already warned how this mine will damage us and our home. It’s worth noting that Antofagasta spent over a million dollars in federal lobbies in 2022.

Vote for DFL candidates who won’t sell our health and wellbeing to the highest bidder.

When rural hospitals and clinics close, it hurts everyone in the community. The One Big Beautiful Bill is financially stressing our local healthcare providers. If you want your healthcare provider close to home, you need a new representative in Congress. Trina for Congress will protect access to our local healthcare providers.
