Statement from Chairman Miller of the Bergen County Board of Elections on the Untimely Passing of Commissioner Denise Ross:

It is with profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Denise Ross, our colleague, friend and fellow Elections Commissioner.

Though Denise and I came from different political parties, that never stood in the way of our friendship or our working together.
We shared a deep commitment to the integrity of the elections that served the public good. Denise’s kindness, professionalism, and belief in community transcended politics, and she reminded us all that cooperation and respect are the foundation of true public service.

The entire staff of the Board of Elections is devastated by her loss. Denise’s legacy of service, fairness and humanity will continue to inspire us for years to come. On behalf of the Board, I extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and all who are grieving. Bergen County has lost not only a dedicated public servant, but also a remarkable person whose spirit will remain with us always.
