Day 5 takes us across the bridge to Big Lake, Medic 7.
A Shift is staffed by Shift Supervisor/EMT Stephen Y. & Paramedic Rhonda F.
B Shift is staffed by Paramedic Gary U & EMT Quinton L.
Our shift supervisors assist the directors with daily operations and perform the vital task of ensuring all units are up to date on preventative maintenance.

Day 4 takes us east to our Grand Lake station. This one will be longer than normal so hang in there lol.
Our Grand Lake crews consist of both Medic 10 & Medic 5. They also respond to emergencies within the Klondike/Lowry area.
Medic 10 A shift is staffed by Paramedic Chris S & EMT Haleigh L. You'll almost always find Chris in the kitchen whipping up baked goods to bring to Bingo days! Thank you both for the extra personal rapport you give to the community!
Medic 5 A shift is staffed by Paramedic Briana M. & EMT Kaden D. Briana took the reins on the donation drives late last year and continues to ensure donations are in stock for the senior program and food bank.
Medic 10 B shift is staffed by Paramedic Jeff I. & EMT Sandra D. Some of you may know Jeff as the former "Holly Beach Mayor" lol. Jeff prides himself on getting to know the needs of the community he works in.
Medic 5 B Shift is staffed by Paramedic Amy T. & EMT John D.
Amy, Sandra, John, & Chris bring years of experience to the east side of our parish and are always seen establishing relationships within the community. Many thanks goes out to each of you for your dedication to our communities!

Day 3 takes us over to Medic 6 at our Hackberry station!
A shift consists of Paramedic/Asst Director Frank L. and EMT Brad L. & B shift consists of Paramedic/Asst Director Troy M and EMT Jeena W.
Our Hackberry station is the heart of CPAD 2, as it's also our main office. When not helping our community our asst. directors switch gears, helping with company operations and making sure weekly supply orders are filled.
Thanks for all you do for the communities you serve, as well as the extra duties you perform to keep things running behind the scenes! An extra thank you also goes out to Jeena and Brad, who are always quick to help our asst. directors when they need the extra support.
Happy EMS week! 🚑

🚑 A Look Back: The History of EMS & EMS Week

Before modern EMS systems, emergency care looked very different, fragmented, inconsistent, and lacking standardized education and systems of care. Through decades of advocacy, innovation, and continuing education, EMS has evolved into a critical pillar of public health and patient care.

📅 EMS Week began in 1974, when President Gerald Ford authorized the first national recognition of EMS professionals. Since then, it has become a time to honor the dedication, sacrifice, and impact of EMS providers across the country while highlighting the importance of continued progress in emergency medical services.

This year’s EMS Week theme, “Improving Outcomes Together,” reflects something we believe deeply at CAPCE.

At CAPCE, our mission is to set the standard for quality continuing education for EMS practitioners with the intent of improving patient outcomes, inspiring innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of excellence. Because improving outcomes starts long before a call comes in. It starts with education, training, and supporting the professionals who serve their communities every day.

We are proud to stand alongside EMS educators, providers, clinicians, and organizations nationwide as we celebrate the history of EMS and continue building its future together.

Day one of EMS Week brings us to Medic 8 in Johnson’s Bayou!
A-Shift consists of EMT “Hunaybun” Evans and Paramedic Kevin Lejeune, while B-Shift consists of EMT Glynn Perrodin and Paramedic Mendy Jinks, who is also our A-Shift Supervisor & Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator (PECC)
🚑 Pediatric patients have unique needs and EMS plays an important role in reducing morbidity & morality when these emergencies occur. In Mendy's role of PECC, she ensures our agency has the appropriate protocols, equipment, and continuing education & training needed to provide quality care during pediatric emergencies.
Thank you, Medic 8, for your dedication to the Johnson’s Bayou community and to Cameron Parish!
