The 12th St. closure is now OPEN. All repairs at and near the railroad tracks have been completed by Union Pacific.

UPDATE ⚠️:

12th Street at the Railroad tracks going in both directions will be closed at a minimum till 5:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2026 due to repairs caused by a vehicle crash into the crossing arms that occurred yesterday.

The entire crossing arm assembly is having to be replaced. ODOT has placed barricades at Hwy 54 west bound on 12th and barricades at 12th & East which will remain in place. Union Pacific has also placed large concrete barriers on each side of the tracks on 12th street to further protect vehicles from crossing tracks.

This is considered a dangerous uncontrolled crossing during the repairs. Regular train traffic will continue.

The damages from the wreck on the railroad crossing off Highway 54 and 12th St. are currently being worked on by a crew out of Dalhart, another crew will be joining them later today. The estimated time for repairs is 3 days. Please note this timeframe is subject to change due to the severity of damages.
