🚫🔥🚫 BURN BAN EXTENDED 🚫🔥🚫

For those who missed it, the Logan Co Board of Commissioners extended the Burn Ban another 14 days. We realize some citizens are frustrated about this, but this is for the safety of everyone across the county. Approx half the counties in Oklahoma are under a burn ban and with good reason. Until we see some significant rainfall, this will continue to be an issue. The fire conditions are very dangerous at this time, so we’re doing everything possible to help prevent any property damage and potential loss of life. Better to be proactive rather than reactive. Attached you’ll find a copy of the resolution describing the burn ban in detail.

Just a quick reminder going into this holiday weekend, the Logan County Burn Ban is still in effect. We realize this is an inconvenience and frustrating for some. But many don’t realize the extreme dangers the current conditions pose to our citizens throughout the county. This is for everyone’s safety. If you light a fire of any kind and it gets away from, accidentally or not, you can be legally held liable for any and all damage that occurs. So please be patient, be safe and pray for lots of rain because we desperately need it. Thank you and have a safe holiday weekend.

🚫🔥🚫 PSA…… BURN BAN CONTINUES! 🚫🔥🚫

This morning the Logan Co BOCC extended the burn ban an additional 14 days and we support this. The current conditions are not favorable for any outdoor burning of any kind. Recent grass fires locally and across the state have proven this repeatedly. Remember, choosing to ignore the burn ban can come with a fine issued by law enforcement.

HYDRATE!

Have you hydrated enough? Drink lots and lots of water. We’re still hoping for a break in this ridiculous heat for many reasons. So while we’re all stuck it this pattern together, we encourage everyone to constantly and consistently drink water throughout the day. Sodas, coffee, tea, energy drinks, alcohol even sports drinks are not substitutes for water. Water will help you stay hydrated, have more energy, reduce fatigue, and feel better in general.

PSA…. The Logan County Burn Ban is still in effect.

We’ve had several calls this morning asking. We certainly appreciate those who have taken initiative and called, but unfortunately we have not received enough rain to lift the ban at this time. While we are blessed to have the small passing showers, the conditions are still dangerous to do any kind of outdoor burning. County commissioners will meet again soon to determine if the ban will be lifted or continued.

With the drought conditions and no rain in sight, PLEASE…. Be mindful of your surroundings and use all precautions to prevent starting any kind of fires. Many counties, including Logan County, are currently under a Burn Ban. More will likely follow suit and those currently under one will likely continue until we receive substantial rainfall.

Water and Gatorade donations accepted today!

We’ll have personnel at the station this afternoon from 2pm - 4pm, if you would like to come by and make a donation of bottled water or Gatorade. Thank you in advance to everyone who helps us with donations at Woodcrest Fire. If no one is at the station, we may be home to a call. Please leave the water under the covered porch at the station. Our community and many beyond always shows us love and support. We can’t thank you enough.
