OCC Launches Invasive Woody Species Cost-Share Program to Oklahoma Landowners

The Oklahoma Conservation Commission (OCC) has launched the Invasive Woody Species Cost-Share Program — an ongoing initiative to manage invasive woody species across Oklahoma's agricultural landscapes. This program aims to provide cost-share to qualifying landowners located within the program boundaries.

The program's application window will open on September 1, 2026, and applications will close on November 1, 2026. Applicants are expected to implement and maintain the conservation practices in accordance with their invasive woody species conservation plan.

The Land Management Division will review, score, and rank applications, and contact landowners if their applications are approved. This initiative represents a significant step in Oklahoma's ongoing conservation partnership toward a sustainable agricultural future.

For more information, interested individuals can contact their local conservation district or visit the Land Management Division 2 - Oklahoma Conservation Commission

Well, well, well!!

When the call goes out, people answer. A request was made for needed bottled water for the 14 fire departments in Logan County.

Our office received a contact from another emergency management office with a bottled water company located in Oklahoma City. A quick form was filled out and the call was answered.

A HUGE shoutout to Niagara Bottling. Thank you to Carrie Spradlin and Skyler Taylor for their help.

With support from District 3, the water was picked up and delivered back to Logan County where is was distributed to our thirsty firefighters.

We took delivery of 8 pallets of water. 672 cases!!! A quick price check with a local store that carried the exact item we received, the total cost was well over $13,000 retail!!! That is money saved by departments to help in operations, repairs and fuel costs.

With assistance from Logan County fairgrounds, and a little sweat, all the water was loaded and sent to our departments.

We can’t thank Niagara Bottling enough for their generosity! They even took the time to pull folks out of a meeting for a quick photo opportunity.

Yesterday on 8-25-26 around 2:40pm, several fire departments on the eastern side of the Logan County were toned out to a large wildfire out by Langston Lake. This area was heavy wooded with cedar trees and thick brush. Crews were able to contain the fire around the lake. Crews wrapped up and got the fire and all the hot spots out at around 9pm. Great job by all the departments that responded. Red American Red Cross of Oklahoma the Logan County group showed up to provide rehab all the firefighters out there. Logan County District 2 also assisted with a grader and a dozer to help. Logan County Emergency Management provided drone support for the incident commander. No structures were damaged or lost. Great work by all.
