As we continue recognizing Attendance Awareness Month, it’s a great time to remember just how important consistent school attendance is to a student’s success.
Every day in the classroom is an opportunity to learn something new, connect with teachers and classmates, and build on the lessons from the day before. When students miss school frequently, even a day or two at a time, those missed lessons can quickly add up.
Good attendance starts with simple habits at home. Keeping regular bedtimes, preparing for school the night before, arriving on time, scheduling appointments outside of school hours when possible, and submitting absence notes are all ways families can help.
And when getting to school becomes difficult, families don’t have to navigate those challenges alone. The Helping Families Initiative (HFI) works with students, families, and schools to identify barriers, connect families with resources, and help students stay on track.
🏫 Be present. Stay connected. Keep moving forward. Every day counts!
