The Gunter Police Department would like to thank everyone who attended the SFST Refresher Class hosted in the Gunter Volunteer Fire & Rescue training room. We were proud to host officers from several surrounding agencies, including Van Alstyne Police Department , Southmayd Police Department , Collinsville Police Department , and Tioga Police Department .

This training ensures officers remain current on Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) procedures and are best prepared to conduct thorough and professional DWI investigations. Classes like this play a vital role in helping keep our roads and community safe.

You may notice some familiar officers in the pictures, as multiple Gunter officers also attended the class alongside our neighboring agencies.

We appreciate all agencies that participated and the continued commitment to public safety.

The Gunter Police Department would like to thank everyone who assisted in identifying the group of kids responsible for graffiti at the Gunter Youth Association baseball fields on 4/12/26. This case has been resolved.

We would also like to remind everyone that while we appreciate young artists working to become the next Picasso, baseball dugouts are not the place for their masterpieces. Gunter Youth Association is a volunteer service to this community, and damage to these facilities impacts the families and kids who use them. Graffiti is against the law, and vandalizing property will not be tolerated.

Thank you for your continued support in helping keep our community safe.
