Our crews are out with a gas leak on 13th St between 25th Ave and 26th Ave downtown. Please avoid this area for the next few hours.

August was another busy month for the Gulfport Fire Department.

Our crews responded to 1,991 total unit responses during the month, bringing our 2026 year-to-date total to 16,119.

A look at August’s busiest apparatus:
🚒 Engine 12 — 244 responses
🚒 Engine 9 — 241 responses
🚒 Engine 3 — 232 responses

Day or night, our personnel remain ready to answer the call and serve the citizens and visitors of Gulfport.

Who knew chair volleyball could get this competitive? Our firefighters had a blast playing with our amazing senior citizens! After plenty of laughs, great teamwork, and some serious competition, the Fire Department barely pulled off the win. We’re calling it a victory!

Community partnerships make a real difference.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Gulfport School District to give students hands-on experience with fire safety and emergency preparedness. Building strong relationships between our schools, first responders, and the community helps create a safer, better-prepared Gulfport.

⚠️ WOODS FIRE – USE CAUTION

Gulfport firefighters are currently working a woods fire in the area between Stewart Road and Sharp Boulevard.

Smoke may be present throughout the surrounding area. Residents with respiratory conditions are encouraged to remain indoors and limit exposure to the smoke.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the area, as smoke may reduce visibility.

Please avoid the immediate area while crews continue operations.
