If you or someone you know was affected by the recent flooding and is in need of clothing, please don’t hesitate to reach out. There are people in our community who care and want to help.

The WOW Care Closet is available to assist women who may have lost clothing because of the storm. Sometimes rebuilding starts with the little things, and having clean, appropriate clothes can make a difficult situation a little easier.

Please share this post so we can help connect those in need with available resources. Praying for everyone impacted by the floods and believing brighter days are ahead.

Re-entering flooded areas:
Please use caution when returning to affected areas.
• Do not drive around barricades.
• Avoid roads that are damaged or still covered by water.
• Watch for displaced wildlife and other hazards.
If your property was damaged:
• Take photos and make a detailed list of damages before beginning cleanup.
• Report damages online to help local governments and nonprofit organizations assess needs and coordinate assistance:

• If you are unable to report online, contact Harrison County EMA at 228-865-4002.
If you have insurance coverage, contact your insurance company as soon as possible to begin the claims process.

In anticipation of six inches of rain through Friday, Harrison County self-serve sandbag sites will open today.
Community members must bring a shovel and fill their own bags.

Registration Reopens for HCSD Family Weekly Meal Distribution

📣 Registration Reopens for HCSD Family Weekly Meal Distribution

We are pleased to announce that registration for the Harrison County School District Family Bulk Meal Distribution Program has reopened following a temporary pause due to an overwhelming community response.

We appreciate the patience and understanding shown while we worked to accommodate the significant demand and expand our capacity to serve more families. 🍎

Families that have not yet registered are encouraged to do so as soon as possible, as availability may be limited. For registration information, please visit https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/StFbKBQhY9?origin=lprLink.

‼️ Once you have registered, your children must be present at the first meal kit pickup to finalize the registration process.

This new 7-Day Bulk Meal Pickup option is being offered this summer, along with our traditional cafeteria service and the Mobile Dining Trailer.

“Any child, regardless of where they attend school, can receive free summer meals at any of our sites. New this year are four locations that will be open one day per week to provide ‘bulk meal kits,’ which essentially contain seven days’ worth of breakfasts and lunches in one large box. This is a great solution for our families on the go or looking to stretch grocery dollars further,” said Brad Barlow, Child Nutrition Director for Harrison County School District.
