Fishbone Alley Downtown Gulfport

Fishbone Alley Downtown Gulfport It’s a funky little destination that backs up to a number of restaurants and bars located around the alley, featuring original local art and culture!

Fishbone Alley, the brainchild of Economic Development Director, David Parker, is a dream-come true. It’s located between 26th & 26th Avenue, and 13th & 14th Streets, in the heart of historic downtown Gulfport. It’s a funky little destination that backs up to a number of restaurants and bars located around the alley. Fishbone Alley, originally a utility alley used for trash and maintenance, was co

nceived to be, not only a destination for visitors, but a heartbeat in the middle of downtown Gulfport, drawing the community to all of the public spaces located in and around downtown. Located directly across the street from another community space, Hancock Bank’s Lighthouse Park is a beautiful green space that encourages the community to come together, whether it’s lunch or afternoon coffee. The alley and the park are creating a social interaction of space. These spaces are bringing the entire area together, connecting the dots to outlining communities and neighborhoods as well. With the construction finally finished, we have started working on the art programs. Artists (and non-artist) from all over the coast have been invited to “leave their mark” in the alley, with murals, panels and the shutter program. The Call to Artists is an on ongoing program utilizing the organic nature of the alley through the eyes of our community. "When will Gulfport's Fishbone Alley be complete?...Never! We will always have local art in
motion." said City of Gulfport spokesman Chris Vignes

Expect to see other events and programming throughout the year with events like “The World’s Smallest Festival”. This is just the beginning of many wonderful events and programs to take place in Fishbone Alley.
“Nightlife in downtown Gulfport is growing in very exciting ways”, said Main Street Director Laurie Toups, “from the newest addition of Fishbone Alley to the revived 13th Street Jazz Bistro, Gulfport has a lot to offer!”
