Military Appreciation Month begins today, and at NMCRS, it’s a meaningful reminder of why we’re here.

For more than a century, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society has stood beside Sailors, Marines, and their families through life’s unexpected moments. Whether it’s emergency financial assistance, budget counseling, education support, or resources for growing families, our mission is simple: to help you navigate challenges with dignity, compassion, and confidence.

This month, we honor the service and sacrifices Sailors, Marines, and their families make every day.

May is Disaster Preparation Month, a timely reminder that even when life feels uncertain, support is here.

At Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, we understand how quickly storms, floods, wildfires, and other emergencies can disrupt daily life for Sailors, Marines, and their families. During disasters, we provide financial assistance to help with urgent needs like evacuation costs, temporary lodging, and recovery from property loss or damage.

Our mission is to stand beside military families when the unexpected happens, offering practical support and peace of mind during difficult moments.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a time to check in with ourselves and with the people we care about. At NMCRS, we know military life can bring unique stressors: deployments, transitions, financial challenges, and long periods apart from loved ones. These experiences can take a toll, and emotional well-being is an important part of caring for yourself and your family.

We believe support, connection, and community matter. Reaching out for help, leaning on trusted resources, and making space for honest conversations are all signs of strength. For Sailors, Marines, and their families, you are never alone.

When we say we couldn’t do it without our volunteers, we truly mean it.
We had an amazing time at our Volunteer Awards & Appreciation Dinner, celebrating the incredible people who give their time, energy, and hearts to support our mission. We are so grateful for each and every volunteer and the difference you make in our community.
A special thank you to Captain Franco for joining us for this special evening. She gave opening remarks, assisted in presenting awards, and took the time to personally speak with every single volunteer in attendance β€” every one!
From all of us, thank you again to our wonderful volunteers. You are truly appreciated! πŸ’™πŸ‘

Purple Up the month of April in celebration of the Month of the Military Child! πŸ’œ Wear purple to celebrate the vibrant spirit and everyday courage of Navy and Marine Corps children.

Wearing purple this month is more than a color choice. It’s a way of showing unity, appreciation, and pride for the youngest members of our community who handle change, growth, and new beginnings with such positivity.
