MHAMS was organized in 1963 as a grassroots organization to serve the mental health needs of south Mississippi. Today, services provided by MHASM have expanded to include wellness education; psychosocial rehabilitation/vocational services; homeless outreach, prevention and supportive housing; respite services, education, support groups and advocacy.

Last week, we had the opportunity to treat our members to a special lunch at Golden Corral! They had been counting down the days and were so excited for the outing. We enjoyed a wonderful meal together, shared lots of conversation, and on the ride back everyone talked about their favorite foods from lunch. The smiles on their faces said it all.

One member summed up the day perfectly when she said, "Ms. Kim, I am having a blast—this is awesome!"

A special thank you to the Whiteman's at Budget Avis Car Rental for helping us secure a 15-passenger van, allowing us to safely transport all of our members and make this memorable day possible.
