LOCATION CHANGE: The Disaster Service Center for Tropical Storm Arthur/DR-4930-MS in Stone County will move on Monday, August 31st.

The new location is:
Mississippi State Medical Needs Shelter
1640 Coy Avenue
Wiggins, MS 39577

The locations in Harrison, Hancock and Pearl River counties remain the same. Remember, residents can visit any DSC location for assistance.

You don't have to visit a center to apply for assistance. You can also apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA App, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

UPDATE: (12:30 p.m.)Crews are working to clear up the final 20 outages this afternoon. Thank you again to our members for your patience as our team worked around the clock to restore service to every member.

UPDATE: At 5:45 a.m. Thursday, crews have worked through the night bringing our outage count down to 332 from a peak of more than 5,000 with 15+ broken poles. We expect the majority of the outages to be restored by noon today.

UPDATE: As of 9:30 p.m., damage assessment teams have located 10 broken poles. This number could increase as they are still working to assess damage throughout our area. All hands are on deck making the needed repairs to restore power.

All available EMEPA crews have been called in and are working to assess damage, make repairs and restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

We understand how difficult and disruptive an outage can be, especially during severe weather, and we appreciate your patience as our crews work to restore service.

The annual Harrison County State of the County address this morning featured keynote speaker Dan Cuevas, the Harrison County Board of Supervisors President. He highlighted regional growth, ongoing infrastructure projects, and the county’s bright future. Together, we can move Mississippi forward. ⬇️ I support this 100%! Absolutely nothing should be attached to power poles by the public. Thank you in advance for helping us spread this message.

Power poles carry a lot of weight, including years' worth of nails and staples left behind by posters, flyers, and yard sale signs. What looks harmless from the ground becomes a real hazard. When our linemen climb poles to restore power, those old nails can snag gloves, tear protective clothing, and cause serious injury. Help keep poles clear by using bulletin boards, storefronts, or online marketplaces to spread the word instead.
