Today marks Captain Joshua Stone's final working day with the Gulfport Police Department as he begins a well-earned retirement.

Throughout his career, Captain Stone has provided unwavering leadership, mentorship, and guidance to countless members of our agency. His respect, support, and compassion for both our officers and the community have made a difference that will not soon be forgotten.

While we will certainly miss his presence, we are grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and wish him nothing but happiness, good health, and many memorable days on the water in retirement.

We celebrated with cake, a plaque, and a shadowbox detailing the various assignments he has had throughout his career.

Thank you, Captain Stone, for your service, leadership, and friendship. Fair winds and following seas. 🚔🎣

Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day when we honor local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who have died or become disabled in the line of duty.

We had a visit from our friends at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 43. They brought snacks and joyful fellowship. Many thanks from all of us at GPD. We appreciate you!!

****GREAT news!! He has been reunited with his family!!****

**FOUND dog**

This guy was found scampering around the bus circle at BOCA CIEGA high school. He’s not chipped and wasn’t wearing any tags. He’s a bit skittish, but friendly nonetheless. Please help us find his home.

If you know where that is please call the Communications Center at 727-582-6177 and ask to speak with a Gulfport officer.

Pinellas County Animal Services has the call and will likely pick him up soon (727)582-2600.
