Today I spent six hours knocking on doors and talking to voters about Amendment 4. Very few voters had sufficient knowledge of the issue to make an informed decision on how to vote on Amendment 4.
I explained Florida's current law, explaining that a pregnant mother may pursue an abortion for any reason up to six weeks. If the pregnant mother has been a victim of r**e, in**st, human trafficking or is carrying a baby that has a fatal fetal anomaly, she may abort up to 15 weeks. If the mother's life is in danger, she may abort up to birth.
Keep in mind, killing the baby before delivery is NEVER medically necessary. In fact, killing the baby merely delays the necessary delivery of the baby.
I found that a number of voters found the language of the bill very confusing. This is not surprising since the bill provides zero definitions for terms such as healthcare provider, viability, a woman's health, etc. George Soros, Planned Parenthood and the ACLU paid folks to deliberately mislead the voters.
The young women that were paid to collect signatures to ensure that Amendment 4 would appear on the ballot were heard telling folks that if Amendment 4 wasn't on the ballot, women would die. The reality is if Amendment 4 passes more women - and their babies - will die.
Amendment 4 will eliminate ALL the protections that have been legislated into law for women seeking abortions, i.e., requiring abortionists to have transfer agreements with nearby hospitals.
The abortion clinic in Pensacola had 60 pages of violations and continued to operate. The clinic was closed following three women that had suffered a lacerated uterus during their abortion procedure. Two of the women will not be able to carry a pregnancy. One of them was instructed to drive an hour away to a Mobile hospital. When she arrived at the ER, her pulse was undetectable since she had nearly bled out. Fortunately, she survived.
Abortion is NOT healthcare. Abortion is often conducted without ultrasound guidance whereby the abortionist does not have a visual of the uterine wall, hence uterine wall injuries.
For those of you that are unconcerned for preborn human life, you may be interested to know that in Michigan, where voters passed a similar referendum, the pro aborts are now suing the state to require taxpayer funded abortions.
Please consider volunteering your time to defeat Amendment 4. I will find a job for you. Please pray that Amendment 4 will be defeated.
